FANNING

The most common staff technique is fanning, it is a series of well timed attacks that will continue as long as the user wants to. Fanning is not easy to master but once you do it is a deadly skill to have. The majority of staff users cannot fan but if you find one that does be very cautious it can do massive amounts of damage in a very short time. The best way to break the fanning is the blue lunge if timed correctly it will get through the continuous strikes. So beware staff users if someone approaches you crouching with their saber up get out of the way as quickly as you can.

Patience

Another staff technique is patience. Though at first glance, many players assume you fan because you use the staff saber, you can easily prove them wrong with this very effective technique. Allowing your opponent to strike first, and then countering with 1-2 swings is a good practice. If your opponent refuses to attack you, charge at them and press your attack key once to hit them from above which almost always outweighs their attack. The key thing, is to be patient.
